The End! :(

Northeast December 2017 and Rio de Janeiro 2017 are ending today! :(
They were fantastic trips! I believe we will all remember it for a long time, right?! We would like to thank all the students, as well as our Coordinators, drivers, guides, suppliers, and also Rotary, Officers, Chairmen, Families and host Families - thanks for the support!
We hope see you all again on a future trip - South American Adventure and Amazon are coming!

Nordeste Dezembro 2017 e o Rio de Janeiro 2017 estão terminando hoje! :(

Foram viagens fantásticas! Acreditamos que todos nós nos lembraremos dessas viagens por um bom tempo, né?! Gostaríamos de agradecer a todos os intercambistas, e também aos nossos Coordenadores, motoristas, guias, fornecedores, e também ao Rotary, Oficiais, Chairs, Famílias e Famílias anfitriãs - obrigado pelo apoio!

Esperamos ver todos de novo em uma viagem futura - Aventura Sul-Americana e Amazônia estão chegando!

Day 14 / Dia 14 - Rio de Janeiro

Today we went to the famous Copacabana beach and we faced some wild waves we spend the whole morning there and after that we ate lunch and we visited arcos de lapa and we took pictures after that we continue the tour by visiting the redentor Christ and then we took a lot of pictures and at night we ate pizza and we did shopping on the street market to take back some souvenirs for our family and friends. Today was a great experience. And we are really excited for tomorrow.

Hoje nós fomos pra famosa praia de Copacabana e nós encontramos com umas olas muito bravas passamos a manhã toda lá, depois a gente foi almoçar seguinte nós fomos pro Cristo redentor e tiramos muitas fotos a noite jantamos pizza e fomos na feira comprar lembranças pra levar embora pro nosso país, pães e amigos. Hoje foi um dia ótimo e nós estamos muito emocionados por amanhã.

Day 13 / Dia 13 Linhares - Rio de Janeiro

We woke up early and started our last bus ride to Rio de Janeiro. It was about 15:00 o clock when suddenly the engine of the bus quit the job. It was totally silence in the bus. About an half an hour later the problem seemed to be solved and we continued the ride. About 40 minutes later the same happened again. It took about an another half an hour to fix the problem and to to restart the engine. The same happend two more times then we stopped at about 22:00 o clock at a petrol station so that the bus drivers could work on the bus's problem better than on the security stripe of the highway. About an hour later we decided to eat something for dinner because we knew we wouldn't make it for dinner in Rio de Janeiro. So we crossed the highway and walked to a restaurant called Bob's Burgers. It is a kind of MC Donald's just worse. At about 24:00 o clock we returned to the bus and hopefully make it in one ride to our destination. I just fall asleep and got woken up when we entered finally after 17 hours in the bus Rio de Janeiro it was about 01:00 o clock. And of course we had to stop one more time because the engine turned off again. But it wasn't that bad because we could see the famous statue of Jesus. We arrived at the hotel at about 02:00 o clock in the morning.  Where I just fall asleep.

Day 12 / Dia 12 Porto Seguro - Linhares

Hoje a gente acordo muito cedo para començar o viagem para o Rio de Janeiro, mas como o viagem é muito longo vamos a fazer em duas parte e hoje foi a primeira. Chegamos em Linhares a isso da fim da tarde donde tuvimos uma de hora livre e despois o jantar. Foi um dia sem actividades é um pouco chato.

Today we wake up so early to start our trip to Rio de Janeiro, and because its so far we did it for two days and today is the first one. We arrived in Linhares about 4 or 5 in the afternoon and got one hour free time after that we went to dinner. It was a day of no activity and a little bit boring.

Day 11 / Dia 11 - Porto Seguro

Hoje é dia 11 de Dezembro e a gente está em Porto Seguro; hoje nós acordamos às 7h00 da manhã para às 7h47 irmos tomar o café da manhã; depois nós fomos para a praia; quando nós estávamos indo lá o Stanley se acabou de rir porque eu e a Mariana enviamos tudo o que nos fizemos a cada hora; a gente chegou na praia às 8h49, perto das 8h53 os intercambistas ouviram as indicações que o Ronni deu para nós: ele falou que nos tínhamos tempo livre de 8h53 a 11h30 para às 11h30 todo mundo teria que estar no ponto de encontro! Nesse tempo livre algumas meninas fizeram tatuagens de henna e os outros estavam no mar. A Mariana Serrato, Madison, Teresa, Paul, Christian, Kushal, Simon, Melissa, Alejandra, Luz Mariana, Angie, Isa, retornaram; depois disso o Ronni deu de novo indicações do que nós íamos fazer a tarde e fomos para o hotel. Chegamos lá e quase todos foram para a piscina porque ainda não era hora do almoço; às 12h30 fomos almoçar, quando a gente acabou nos arrumamos para o seguinte tour: fomos fazer um tour pela cidade; e a Mariana Serrato gritou jegue porreta! No momento o Christian estava dentro do ônibus e ele fiz lá mesmo - achei engraçado! Quando a gente acabou de fazer o tour, fomos para o hotel para nos arrumarmos porque nós tínhamos reunião às 8h30 e falaram o que nós íamos fazer amanhã! Contamos as estórias para escolher o novo jegue porreta mas a Mariana ficou com ele de novo! Para finalizar o dia fomos para um clube jantar e dançar um pouco.

Today is December 11th and we're in Porto Seguro; today we woke up at 7:00am, so we could have breakfast at 7:47am; then, we ent to the beach; when we were going there, Stanlely ended up laughing a lot, because Mariana and I sent everything we did at each minute; we arrived at the beacj at 8:49am; close to 8:53am, the Exchange students listened the advices Ronni was giving to us: we told us we would have free time from 8:53am to 11:30am, when we needed to be back at the meeting point! During this time, some girls had fake tattoos and others were in the water. Mariana Serrato, Madison, Teresa, Paul, Christian, Kushal, Simon, Melissa, Alejandra, Luz Mariana, Angie, Isa came back; then Ronni informed us again what we were going to do in the afternoon; so we returned to the hotel. Arriving there, most of students went to the pool as it was not lunch time yet; at 12:30pm, we had lunch and got ready to leave for the tour: we had a city tour; Mariana Serrato yelled the "jegue porreta" game and in the moment, Christian was inside the bus, so he had to do it in there - I found it funny! When we finished the tour, we went to the hotel to get ready as we had a meeting at 08:30pm in which they told us the activities of the following day! We told funny stories of the day and elected Mariana again as the "jegue porreta". To end it up, we went to a club to have dinner and dance a little.

 

Day 9 / Dia 9 - Salvador

Nosso dia em Salvador já começou ótimo com a gente podendo dormir até 8 horas (mas eu atrasei mesmo assim, por causa disso vocês leem o blog de mim hoje).
O dia inteiro um guia bem poliglota mostrou a cidade para nós em Português, Alemão, Francês e Inglês. Nós fomos para o Farol da Barra primeiro, depois para a Igreja do Bonfim com as pulseiras famosas. A gente comprou algumas coisas - alguns com mais, alguns com menos sucesso na hora de pechinchar.
Depois fomos para uma feira muito grande, com várias lojas/barracas pequenas, onde nós compramos souvenirs e lembranças.
À tarde visitamos uma igreja muito linda, todo em ouro!
Depois fomos surpreendidos por uma chuva bem forte e fomos para o Show de Capoeira que foi maravilhoso! Estava muito interessante e variado, colorido, impressionante e empolgante.
Salvador é uma cidade muito diversificada, de muita cultura. É uma parte do Brasil completamente diferente do que eu já conheci.

Our day in Salvador started very well as we could sleep until 8am (even this way, I got late, so that's why I'm writing the blog today).

The entire day, we had the company of a multi-language guide who showed us the city in Portuguese, German, French and English. We went to Farol da Barra first, then to the Church of Bonfim, famous for the bracelets. We bought some things - some of us with more or less success on getting a better price.

Then we headed to a very big fair, full of stores/small stands, where we bought souvenirs and presentes.

At afternoon, we visited a very beautiful church, covered with gold!

Then, we were surprised by a big rain, so we went to watch the Capoeira Show that was fantastic! It was very interesting, varied, colorful and impressive.

Salvador is a diverse city, full of culture. It is a part of Brazil completely diferente that I was used to.

 

Day 7 / Dia 7 - Canindé de São Francisco

Hoje no sétimo dia, nós acordamos às 7 horas, tomamos café de manhã e fomos embora de Maceió para Canindé de São Francisco. A viagem foi de 5 horas de ônibus, quando chegamos, a gente foi para um catamarã pelo rio São Francisco. O passeio foi muito legal, tinha uma vista linda e depois entramos na água. Acabando o passeio de catamarã a gente foi para o centro da cidade para jantar e comprar coisas no mercado; depois chegamos ao hotel e fomos dormir às 10:30.

Today at the seventh day, we woke up at 7am, had breakfast and left Maceió towards Canindé de São Francisco. The trip was a 5-hour bus trip; when we arrived, we went on a catamaran ride through the Waters of San Francisco river. The tour was very cool; there was an incredible view and we had the chance to swim a little. Ending the catamaran tour, we went to the center of the city to have dinner and shop some things at the Market; after that, we arrived at the hotel and went to sleep at 10:30.
